GP7 Cinema takes another strategic step in its journey in television drama and announces to the audiovisual market that it has been selected to develop and produce an original TV movie for TV Globo, scheduled to air as part of the network’s regional TV movie project, within the traditional “Tela Quente” series.

Discussions between the production company and the network began in October 2024, as part of a process of collaboration and development led by artistic director Fred Mayrink, artistic supervisor of Globo’s regional TV movie project.

On May 27, 2025, filmmaker Guto Pasko, director of GP7 Cinema, was in Rio de Janeiro for a meeting at the network, where he presented proposals for original stories for the project. The approved story addresses a universal and deeply human theme: the rebuilding of emotional bonds between a grandfather and his grandson in an era of digital hyperconnectivity.

The TV movie follows Boris, an 18-year-old who embodies contemporary urban life: constantly connected, a member of an online gaming team, and increasingly distant from the real relationships around him.

His mother, Natália, a nurse facing an intense work schedule, realizes that her son is losing his balance between the virtual world and real life. After Boris misses the deadline to register for the ENEM because he spent the night in front of the screen, she makes a drastic decision: to send him to spend a few days with his grandfather Stanislau in a Ukrainian immigrant community in the city of Prudentópolis.

What seemed like a punishment quickly turns into a journey of personal growth.

Alongside his grandfather—a respected community leader and organizer of the traditional local Ukrainian festival—Boris discovers the strength of his family roots, the value of his cultural heritage, and the beauty of human connections beyond social media.

Set in a visually unique world, the TV movie will explore the urban and rural landscapes of Prudentópolis, its Slavic-style wooden houses, monumental waterfalls, Byzantine-influenced churches, as well as the language, cuisine, religiosity, and traditions preserved by the local Ukrainian community.

“It’s a story that speaks directly to our times—about technology and connectivity—but above all about belonging, memory, and human relationships. Although it deals with the universal bond between a grandfather and his grandson, it takes place in a very distinctive and cinematic setting in Paraná,” notes Guto Pasko.

The project is now entering the screenplay development phase, which will be written by Gil Marcel Cordeiro. At this stage, the production also benefits from creative consulting by Dani Tolomei and Leo Edde of the Transforma platform, as well as editorial oversight by Verônica Nunes and João Pedro Pinho, representatives of TV Globo. Globo’s affiliate in Paraná (RPC) is also closely monitoring the project’s development.

Guto Pasko will direct, with Amarildo Martins serving as Assistant Director.

Executive production will be handled by Andréia Kaláboa, from GP7 Cinema, and Gabriel Jacome, from TV Globo.

Other names already confirmed for the core team include Sandra Costa as production manager; Isabelle Bittencourt as art director; and João Castelo Branco as director of photography.

 The casting process will begin in the coming days, and the entire cast will consist of actors from Paraná.

Filming is scheduled to take place between September and October 2025, with the premiere set for early 2026 as part of Cine BBB, Big Brother Brazil’s special film program. The format calls for an exclusive screening for the show’s participants confined in the house, followed by a national broadcast on Tela Quente.

With this new project, GP7 Cinema strengthens its role in producing premium content for television and expands its presence in the national market for audiovisual drama.
