In 2025, Brazil and France will be celebrating 200 years of diplomatic, economic, and cultural relations.
As part of these ongoing bilateral activities, the Cannes Film Festival has selected Brazil as the “Country of Honor” for the 2025 MARCHÉ DU FILM, recognizing its contributions to the global film industry.
Director and producer Guto Pasko, a founding partner of GP7 Cinema, will attend the Cannes Film Festival as an official member of the Brazilian Delegation at the invitation of the Brazilian Ministry of Culture through the Secretariat of Audiovisual Affairs (SAV), representing the Paraná Audiovisual Industry Union (SIAPAR), of which he is Vice President.
Brazil’s participation will span the entire event program, including screenings of works-in-progress for films and documentaries, exclusive networking events, and presentations of new international co-production initiatives. In addition, Brazil will also host the official Opening Night party.
In addition to representing SIAPAR at the institutional activities in Cannes organized by the Ministry of Culture, Guto Pasko will be at the MARCHÉ DU FILM with a portfolio of works from the Paraná-based production company GP7 Cinema, consisting of three completed feature films and four more feature films in the planning stage.
Guto Pasko will participate in business meetings with sales agents, producers, distributors, and festival programmers, exploring opportunities for international co-productions, international sales, and premieres of the production company’s films at major international film festivals.
MARCHÉ DU FILM is the world’s largest international gathering of film professionals, bringing together participants from 80 countries—including sales agents, producers, distributors, festival programmers, and film institutions—to help the global film community connect, accelerate business, foster new collaborations, and explore the latest trends and innovations shaping the industry.
Over the course of more than two decades of operation, GP7 Cinema has developed a solid structure to handle audiovisual projects of various sizes and types, relying on a broad network of collaborating artists and technicians across Brazil and abroad, and have built up extensive experience and a portfolio of 64 released audiovisual works along the way.
For Pasko, this is an important moment for GP7 Cinema in its journey toward internationalizing its projects and partnerships.
