In 1942, Iván Bojko was torn from his native village by the Nazis and taken to Germany for forced labor. In 1948, he immigrated to Brazil as a World War II refugee and was never able to return to Ukraine, but he remained connected to his country’s cultural traditions through music. Sixty-eight years later, the film documents Iván Bojko’s return to his homeland—a true “journey back to the past”—at the age of 91.
